  2. Geography game- This game can be found at http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/games/geographygames/copycat/. This game allows students to play a copycat game by clicking on the appropriate continent. It provides the student with repetitiveness so they learn the continents.
  3. Book- Follow That Map! A first book of mapping skills by Scot Ritchie. This book introduces maps to students including different places, formats, how we read them. This book could be read at the beginning of the unit to introduce maps in a fun way.
  4. State Project- Students will research facts about Florida, draw a state flag and other information.
  5. Video/Song- Song which teaches students the Continents of the world.

  1. Wake Up World Book: Have students use Graphic Organizer (venn diagram) to compare them and 1 student from another country. Helps build knowledge of other countries and is a good way for them to look at world geography. This can be used to help students recognize continents/countries

  3. Scrambled States of America is another game that is about the USA. It has the states and they have to correctly answer questions, if correct they can keep the card. The person who collects the most states wins.
  4. State and Capitals is a game that the students match the state with the capital. The students have to correctly match the state with the capital and then fill in that state on their map. The student with the most pairs and states correctly colored in wins.
  5. As the Crow Flies Book: This book can be used with ELL students in order to help them understand the basics of map skills. They can read the book then create a map of the classroom and school similar to the maps in the book.
